Chief among these changes is a substantial upgrade to the brand’s powertrain warranty, which now covers 10 years or 100,000 miles—doubling the previous five-year, 60,000-mile protection.

This expanded warranty applies to key mechanical components, including the engine, transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, differentials, and axles, offering long-term peace of mind for heavy-duty users. However, Ram’s growing lineup of electric vehicles will not be included under this new coverage.

Standard across all models is a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 that produces 405 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, providing strong acceleration and confident towing performance. This engine is the sole powertrain offered in the off-road-focused Power Wagon, which comes exclusively with four-wheel drive.

For those seeking maximum pulling strength and torque, Ram also offers the legendary 6.7-liter Cummins turbo-diesel inline-six, available in both 2500 and 3500 configurations. In its latest iteration, the Cummins diesel generates an impressive 430 horsepower and a staggering 1,075 lb-ft of torque, allowing these trucks to handle some of the heaviest towing and hauling demands in the segment. The 2026 Ram Heavy Duty lineup continues to deliver immense power and capability with two robust engine options that cater to a wide range of needs.

Both engines are paired with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission, which contributes to improved efficiency and refinement across the range.
